Our editing engine has a name of its own: Auteur. Publishing gets its own home, and you can now post videos you already have, with no editing at all. Plus clearer menus across the site.
New
Auteur, our AI editing engine
The engine that edits your videos is now called Auteur (it was Director 1). Same job, clearer name: it reads your take, plans the cut, builds visuals on every beat, writes the captions and checks every scene before you see it. Old links to /director land on the new page.
Already have finished videos? Upload them as they are. Nothing is edited: makerzz writes a caption for each platform, and you post now, add the video to your next queue slot, or pick a time.
A new page explains the whole publishing side of makerzz: connected accounts, captions per platform, the queue and calendar, comment-to-DM automations, the inbox and broadcasts.
The Product menu now starts with Auteur and Publishing, and there is a new use case for scheduling and posting videos you already have. Solutions and use-case pages say how Auteur handles each one.
Long-form edits get a finished look, a pile of clips can become a story, and every video can now wear your colours, fonts, pace and captions. Plus eight animation packs, a tutorial mode and a new logo.
New
Podcast Pro for long-form
The new default look for full edits from raw footage: a teal-orange grade, a wide / punch-in rhythm every few seconds, big captions beside you and graphics that illustrate what you say. The shorts pulled from the cut get the same look. Prefer it plain? Pick Clean.
Drop up to 20 clips (phone videos, screen recordings, up to 30 minutes in all). Auteur watches them, writes the script, voices it — with your own voice-over, the talking take in your clips, or one of six AI voices — and cuts a 15 to 90 second story.
Colours, open-licensed fonts, playback speed, motion tempo and intensity, caption style (word pop, full line, karaoke or none), music and sound-effect volume, how much real material versus graphics, and the hook. Save it once as your brand kit and it's the default for every new video.
Paper Collage, SaaS Dashboard, Documentary, Kinetic Type, Neon Glitch, Breaking News, Swiss Grid and Retro VHS. Each is a full motion look with its own templates, type and captions, and works with a take of you or faceless from a voice-over or script.
Five new looks built from studying how top creators edit — our own code, fonts and your material, never their footage: Sticker Talk, Editorial Cards, Split Stack and Lime Slides for videos with your face, and Desk Collage for faceless case studies.
Whatever you explain becomes numbered steps with a progress rail. When you name a public website, Auteur records the real flow you describe — scrolling, clicking, typing — and zooms in where the click lands.
In the face styles you choose per video whether your head pops out over the top of your video card or sits in a clean rounded card. The cut-out runs on our own render machines; your footage isn't sent to a background-removal service.
Comment to get a link, lead magnet + email, follow to unlock and the AI DM assistant now run on the same publishing system that posts your videos, with a second engine of ours covering anything it doesn't do yet and retrying if a sync fails.
A new mark — two corner brackets framing a play button, the way a director frames a shot — and a calmer site, plus a help centre and plain-English policies written for what makerzz does today.
The first release of our editing engine under its own name, then Director 1 and now Auteur: a planner, scene agents working in parallel, our house-style engine, per-scene checks and the render pipeline, running on leading third-party AI models.
New
House styles
Every style is a full set of measured rules — layout, timing, type, motion curves and sound — that the scene agents write against. Pick one per video or try a few on the same take.
The Planner splits your take into scenes and one agent writes each scene at the same time. Each scene is rendered and checked on its own, fixed if it fails, and falls back to a simpler layout rather than holding up the video.
Your project page shows the edit live: which agents are working, every scene moving from planned to ready, thumbnails as they render, and a calm log with the time left.
New
Long-form raw edits
Upload one or several raw files, up to an hour. Retakes, false starts, long silences and filler come out, the best take of each line stays, and you get a clean 16:9 cut with chapters, captions and a few shorts pulled from it.
New
Multilingual
Record in the language you speak to your audience. Transcription follows the language you choose, and captions and on-screen text come back in that language.
New
Publishing and DM automations
Approve a video, then post or schedule it to your connected accounts with a caption per platform. Attach a comment-to-DM flow and it switches on with the post.
