The steps and how long they take
Every project moves through four steps, shown at the top of the project page with a live countdown:
| Step | What happens | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Editing | Auteur transcribes, plans the scenes, researches real material, builds every scene, renders and runs quality checks. | About 4–7 min for a 1-min reel; about 1 min per minute of raw footage for a full edit; 5–10 min for a story |
| Review | You watch each version, then approve it or ask for changes. | Your call |
| Captions | A caption per platform, written from what you said. | About 20 seconds |
| Publish | Post now, add to your queue, or schedule. | Instant or scheduled |
You can close the tab — editing carries on and the project waits for you in the studio. Styles made with our team can take up to a day.
Asking for changes
Pause where something is off and write what you want — “show the pricing page here”, “cut this line”. The note is pinned to that second and Auteur makes a new revision. Change requests are currently free.
If a version fails
The project page shows which step failed and a Retry from … button that picks up at that step, so finished work isn't redone. The credits for a failed version go back to your balance automatically.
If it fails again, open the support chat — it can see your project and hands it to a person.
Download your video
Every finished version has a Download video button on the project page (MP4). Full edits also offer the captions as an .srt file. The videos are yours — post them through makerzz or anywhere else.
